Seven local designers will make their debuts at the Bermuda Fashion Festival this year.

Chineza Augustus, Christine Jones, Desiree Riley, Charda Simons, Nicola Lucas, Shantia Seymour and Taijhaun Hollis will be paired with international fashion experts in a mentor programme before the event from July 8 to 14.

Festival executive producer Danilee Trott said: “The mentor programme for our local designers is invaluable and really gives the designers an up close and personal experience with an industry professional.

“It acts as a directive and tutorial, especially for new designers who may have no idea how to launch and market their own line.

“This is the sixth year of the programme and it continues to be a vital component for the designers, as it really gets them ready for the runway and gives them the confidence to debut their collections in a public setting.

“We are very excited about this year’s designers as their individual styles are all so different.” [read more]
