Ronald Burton III was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, where he studied classical ballet which eventually brought him to New York City studying and dancing with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater & Complexions Contemporary Ballet. When it was time to transition from the dance world, Ronald felt it was a natural progression that he explore a career in fashion, and found his voice in editorial and styling with his first internship working under the Fashion Director at Complex Magazine. From there he landed an internship at V Magazine & V Man, that eventually promoted him to the role of Fashion Assistant. After a year, Ronald took his talents to Vogue International focusing on the Chinese & Japanese print editions, before deciding to go out and work as a freelance stylist assistant to further hone in on his skill set as a stylist. During this time Ronald worked for stylists such as Joe McKenna, Lori Goldstein, Beat Bolliger, Nicola Formechetti, Jay Massacret, and his long time boss of 3 years, Clare Richardson until presented with the opportunity to work as a staffed Fashion & Market Editor at high fashion & art bi-annual Document Journal. At Document, Ronald was responsible for developing the fashion department at the magazine, overseeing all fashion & accessory markets as well as conceptualizing and styling main fashion well stories, accessory still life pages and exclusive online content. Ronald, who currently serves as Senior Fashion Editor after a little over 4.5 years at the publication is happy to be celebrating the final installment of the magazine’s 5th year anniversary this fall, as the 2nd longest standing employee at the magazine, outside of the magazine’s Editor-In-Chief. Ronald’s freelance advertising clients include Thom Browne NY, Patrik Ervell, and Elie Tahari.
